"What's Wrong With the World?"
DESCRIPTION: In the early 20th century, The London Times hosted an essay contest on the topic: "What's wrong with the world?" British journalist and philosopher, G.K. Chesterton's entry was four words, "Dear Sirs, I am." This third episode introduces the truth that we are all creatures of relationships; four in particular. One with ourselves, one with others, one with nature, and finally, one with God. Three major biblical themes are also examined: the image of God in man, the Fall into sin, and the condition of the human heart. Sin is presented as the loss of shalom. Things are no longer "the way they're supposed to be." Especially between me and myself. Episode 3 creates the framework for the rest of Part I, by showing sin to be much more than "two naked people getting kicked out of the pool," and paves the way for a clear understanding of the gospel in Episode 7 as God's solution to all our broken relationships.
